Bad Dog Bucktail Co. has been in the works for years.  MR, being an avid angler since the age of 10, holds a deep passion for fishing that has evolved over the last two and a half decades.

From fishing at the local marina with a bobber and worm, to trolling Okanagan Lake on his first boat, the "trout trapper", an old 8ft aluminum purchased at age 13, the passion grew into fly fishing.  MR got lost in this world including Stillwater, Rivers, Kootenay River Mouths, Coastal Beaches and beyond.

Bad Dog is the final product of all these different experiences.

His quality bucktails are made for the purist chasing anadromous salmon on the coast, as much as they are made for the big lake angler trolling them behind a planer board or flasher.

MR honed in on the art of tying flies through his experience on the water.  Studying what the fish wanted through trial and error, he was able to perfect his craft and create the premium quality flies he now sells, and uses today.
